Just a thought did you have the flywheel turned

I hope you did if you didnt you will have clutch problems the new disc with not mate and not give you 100 % grip and the disk will do two things under load give poor performance > 2nd it will wear faster as the flywheel will slowly were the facing down > my opinion a clutch like that should stall the engine before it slips but under Xtreme pulling maybe but not likly as the amount of reduction should more than be enough to keep the clutch from slipping ~ Copey
