I've never done any Tig welding but every time I have Rennato fabricating something for me I put on a helmet & marvel at what these can do in capable hands.
Last time I was at his place I watched in amazement as he filled over 30 3/4" holes in one of my cabs within about an hour. he cut plugs & redrilled the holes so the plugs were a hammer fit...then he Tig welded them without any filler rod. He just touched them with a grinding pad & you couldn't see or feel any sign of the welds when he was done.
I told him I was in awe. He said it was simple as pie & he could teach me in an hour. He asked if I was a good gas welder & I told him not particularly...at which point he said "never mind."
