I agree with Nick, the rear bumper looks great.
Could the spare tire be mounted horizontally on the roof with a black fabric cover like Jeeps have? I know not he best location but it would be a shame I think to cover up the wood with a spare.
As to the tank, rather than plastic, what about a custom full length (frame rail to frame rail) gas tank made from 16 gauge stainless? Look in the archives, Ken from Pa showed how he made one with simple home tools; not too hard for someone good with a MIG welder.
