I was pretty young that year but I do remember the 71 snow where parts of seattle had 5 feet!! that was the year we set the world record for snow fall up on Mt Rainier that was not broken until the winter of I think 97 when we had 48 inches in North Seattle and new world record snow fall up at Mt Baker. I skiied so much that year. it was a great one. Teh ski areas were anouncing there weekly snow fall totals in feet rather than inches like ususal.
