When I had the custom springs made for my Carryall, I asked Betts Spring, San Leandro, Ca, about Teflon between the leafs. They said springs need friction to operate correctly and can over extend with Teflon. They refuse to do any teflon between spring leafs.
And from my;
1960 Dodge Truck Shop Manual
Group 17
Spring and Shock Absorbers
"The springs are designed to operate without lubrication between the leafs. Under extremely abnormal conditions, it may be found necessary for added lubrication"
I have now re-sprung all my trucks with new springs, front and rear, none have teflon or added lubrication.
