Since today is another down day , due to weather. And every body in the north is sick of snow I have a funny snow story to tell . This one is a true story, not that any of my other stories were not. This one made front page of our local community newspaper complete with photos .There’s a guy in town , Eli , he’s in his 74th year he has a construction business and a farm , he lives in town as his wife doesn’t drive . We nick named him “He Lies “ after his cattle got out on the hiway and were struck by the beer truck ,he said a bear had been in the barn yard and had scarred the cattle to the road ,and upset the beer truck . Well we all would like to believe “He Lies” but a bear in the winter is just a little too far of a stretch for us . But who could argue with “He Lies “. Now Eli is one tough old bird he doesn’t ask his employees to do anything , he wont do him self . Eli still thinks a 12 hour day just isn’t long enough and he is, the first man on a shovel or a pick or to move a rock out of the way . So the last snow storm we had, Eli was shoveling his driveway and so was his young neighbor . The drive ways are close together so the two neighbors had piled the snow in the middle of them . The snow had gotten quite high, the pile was over three feet and ran the length of the two driveways . The trouble began when the younger nbr started throwing his snow over the top of the pile , onto Eli’s drive way . Eli in his polite manner asks the younger nbr to stop throwing the snow on his drive . When Eli asks the young guy to stop for the third time ,Eli gets a shovel full of snow in the face for his efforts . Eli has lost it now , he climbs the snow pile and dives on the thirty year old nbr and gives him a old fashion whooping , when the police arrived Eli was making the youngster clean “his” driveway , Well arrests were made and the two men brought before the judge . The judge reads the charges and orders each man to keep the peace for one year and says to Eli in a loud voice to “pick on men his own age “.The court room goes into hysterics ! Old Eli reminds me of power wagon , Tough ,Old , Reliable and when necessary can kick A$$ ~ copey
