You said the holes were threaded. Just plug them?
Clean them out as best you can, they go straight in to the oil galleys. Be careful with sealer and tape. you don't want to plug up any oil passages.
Or make a plate and a gasket.
Or if it was my engine, I'd machine an adapter for a PH-8A spin on filter.
