Yes, I noticed the ad on the 26th of February. I called the phone number the next day, spoke to the owner, and it sounds very promising. I am optimistic that this truck will be the right one for me if I can just reach a deal with the seller.
It is located only 1-1/2 hours away from me. I will need to find a complete windshield for it. It is also missing the running boards. Though I am not too concerned about them as well as some other small parts that are missing.
Eventually, I will need to find a passenger side headlight, turn signals, and brake lights. The seller indicated that the brakes do not work and they loose fluid. I am guessing that it may be a problem with a connection not seating correctly somewhere close to the master cylinder.
Also the owner has not had the truck running but I am hoping that it will with the help of a little ether and a new battery. I have been a mechanic for 30 years and I have seen many fire right up with this method. It may have a stuck valve, but these can usually be fixed quick by dumping a little oil in the cylinder. Put the plug back in, crank it over, and the valves usually free right up.
