Mine may be a strange reason for sticking with points and condenser, electromechanical regulator, and DC generator, but I like to know I have at least one vehicle that won't be damaged by nuclear radiation or electromagnetic pulses from lightning, solar flares, or atomic bombs. All that stuff you read about how all the cars will stop in the event of a nearby nuclear detonation only applies to modern vehicles with transistors in them. Same reason for having a few tube radios.
