They'll keep a truck on the road for twenty years. Swap diesel-to-gas-to-diesel over it's life.
Last truck I owned and kept track of for 15 years cost me 25¢/mile. That's buying it used, doing all my own repairs, including a complete rebuild, and selling it to a junkyard later.
Marty's leased truck cost him 18k, mine cost me 2k, leaving me with that whole 50k invested, which grew to 66k with the money I didn't spend on a truck. And all the labor I saved by never ever waxing the old clunker.
