06 dodge diesel opinion

Since this truck will end up towing my 57 pw one day this seems a good place to post.I'm looking at buying a newer truck,either a 06 3500 cummins dodge with auto 5spd and 4x4,or 01 4x4 cummins 5spd std.Both are about same price.Are those 5spd autos tuff enough for hard use,I also tow a 4000# trailer with a 4600# bobcat come summer.Thanks for any input.
