That is really cool, but I do not see how it helps anything. If you have the part to digitize, why do you need the exact replica in ABS? Let me rephrase that, I can see the worth in the digitizing, to be able to feed that info to a CNC machine to make the part, but why make one out of ABS first? I bet that "printer" cost WAY more than $3,000. My only other thought is, I wonder if you can program in adjustments for casting shrinkage, ie make the ABS part oversize to use in a mold and factor in the shrinkage from casting.
