Bob a oil pan is gereraly glued in place at the factory and in 50 years never seen to many pan gaskets just start to leak its that simple > i would be guessing that you have seal failure front and rear main > now what i found is in most cases when crank shafts and bearing wear alows TO much oil to be leaked past the journals and can not be stopped by the seals hence the leak the other proble with seals are they do get old a brittle, like me and wear out and leak but those leaks are big time if you have a failure > if yopu are goingto open her up for surgery your gona end up pulling that motor and $$$$$$ your dime ~ Copey
