In the first machine shop where I was a machinist, it was policy to use Anti-Sieze compound on EVERYTHING. Any time a bearing, bushing, or collar got pressed into a part, Anti-Sieze had to be first coated on the mating surfaces. If two parts were being pressed together, Anti-Sieze had to also be first coated on their mating surfaces.
In the second machine shop where I was a machinist, it was policy to never use Anti-Sieze on ANYTHING. You should have seen some of the parts when I had to press them back apart later. Galling was extreme.
