I was going to do the same until I figured out for the size of a round tank that would look right on the truck, it wouldn't hold enough fuel for my liking. I just put in a new 25 gal Ford Bronco tank. Size is right, stock brackets worked, and just turn it to what ever side you want the filler. I had to solder in a pick-up tube and I modified the sending unit hole to accept a stock PW sending unit. A litle over $100, a little bit of work and voila, a new tank.
