I'm the other forum regular Clint was referring to. I had neck surgery on Nov.11. They took the c-5,6 disc and replaced it with cadaver bone, metal plate and screws.
The best I can offer you is that I've had mixed results. Overall the pain is better but I still have frequent episodes of extreme pain and don't have good mobility in my neck. They tell me therapy is the key now and I've been working diligently at it without great results.
My reasoning in going ahead with the surgery was that I didn't like the alternative....constant pain.
