The leftists are already mad at him for picking an interior secretary who's not adamantly anti-mining, anti-logging, and anti-cattle, and for picking a preacher for his inauguration who they think is too fundamentalist. And Nancy Pelosi recently reminded him that SHE's the one who makes the laws. Obama's smart, though. He knows the lefties can whine, but they'll still vote Democratic. He used them to get himself elected, but he doesn't need them any more. I have a hunch he's going to turn out to be more moderate than he sounded when he was running for the office.
But yeah, buy your black guns and hi-cap mags while you can, and prepare for a great big shiny new carbon tax on everything.
And while I'm at it, I'll give the Bush administration credit for one thing that no Democrat could ever do -- destroying the Republican party. It's going to take them a long time to work their way back out of the hole they dug themselves. Maybe eventually the Republican party bosses will realize that the reason some many of their politicians got handed their hats and their walking papers was that once they took control of the government, instead of acting like Republicans, they started acting like old-school LBJ Democrats -- big government, lots of new spending, meddling in people's private lives, etc.
