The entire length of Southern Wyoming, from East to West, is over 5000 feet in elevation, with some areas over 7000 feet. I-80 crosses over the Continental Divide between Rock Springs and Laramie, so extreme weather is the norm here. About every 10 or 15 years, it will snow on the 4th of July here.
