Another thing to confuse you... Some old school stick welders will swap their leads so that Positive is to the ground clamp and negative is going to the working lead with the electrode... It will lead to a smoother weld, as I am told.. Also how I grew-up welding since that how my pops ran his rig...
And if I have it wrong and it went the other way around - that is fine...
