Should not ned to do anything special if the engine is maintained in top condition. My Bombarider has a Chrysler 251 engine. The battery is on a conditioner 24/7/365 days. I never plug the block heater in until temps drop below zero. Full choke, half gas pedal and a few cranks and she always lights up. Way below zero, the same thing but the assist of the block heater 2 hours prior to start.
