At the heart of the matter, if you ask any firefighter, they will say we aren't in it for the money. I know Im not in it for the money, or I would work for a city department. Im in it cuz I love what I do and would never do anything else. I remeber when i was a volunteer, and did it for exactly that, volunteer. absolutely no pay at all whatsoever.
But it sucks to have in the back of my mind, that I'm regulated by someone who has never even got their hands dirty let alone risked their life for someone they dont even know
