I Pickle X 20 all my steel. Once the Pickle X is applied, you have great protection from rust. As as example, The Carryall, Bumblebee, M37, & Model A, after blasting sat over the winter in the shop, while they were being built. NO rust anywhere developed. Pickle X 20 will also help remove Mill Scale. Keep in mind once you Pickle X 20, you CAN NOT use a self etching primer. You must use a Epoxy or the Pickle X will be rendered useless. I use PPG MP-170 Epoxy Primer. Any time I buy steel sheet goods, they are always shot and wiped with Pickle X. Go to the web site to learn more. www.picklex20.com
I believe in the product, but only a real long term (years) will prove if its worth the money under the substrate primer. AS I am building my Power Giant, bare steel is treated with Pickle X 20.
