The addition of a second battery was definitely helpful in my plow truck. Maybe the charging system was different. I put in two new batteries, joined them with #4 cables, and had less trouble with the plow. Not all circumstances are the same. Maybe the battery he is using isn't accepting or holding what the alternator is providing.
