I'm old-fashioned, but I suspect that stuff really does work. Most new vehicles have very few gaskets in them. They just use RTV or other sealers in the factory. I still put gaskets in, even on "easy" places like water pumps and thermostat housings, because the RTV squeezes out to almost nothing, but maybe that's not really a problem. I'd like to hear from folks who have used this "right stuff" gasket goop. If it can take the heat and the oil, I would think it would be great on oil pans and valve covers, since those sheet-metal stampings usually get bent around the holds and it's hard to get a good seal on them, even when they're doped up with black RTV.
I expect it'll be a long time, though, before the miracle chemists come up with a squirt-on head gasket.
