A belt driven compressor saps engine power...and if you ever need to blow out a wet distributor, forget it, you'd need a running engine, which,... with a wet distributor, you won't have.
There are now dozens of high powered electrical compressors that do the job.
I have a HD version of the Pacific Scientific Compressor used on the Humvee, but my unit is more powerful, it runs my ARB's and any air tools that you might have, also I have a 2 gallon air tank plumbed from the compressor that gives you enough "boost" to seat a tire onto the wheel. I air up all four tires, from 8 lbs to 35 lbs, simultaneously in about 4 minutes.
