OK Marty it is time to fess up.
I have ripped off all the sheetrock and took out the insulation in my garage ceiling. I then started to redo every thing. I enclosed the cold air return for the house and insulated it to R26. I insulated the ceiling to R30. I am now insultating and sheetrocking the heating ducts in the garage. I will also insulate the garage walls.
Minor problem:
On New Years day I was cutting 2" foam boards to insulate the heating ducts. My right thumb decided to have a disagreement with my table saw. Yes I opened the door between the garage and the house and yelled "We are going to ER now!!!!" The little lady did not like what she heard.
I had just gone through a mental safety check making sure everything was good and that I was not being stupid. Next thing I knew was my thumb kicked back when the blade caught my nail. I grabbed and applied pressure.
I came out quite well. The blade just ripped a patch of skin of my right thumb next to the nail and left a flap. It did not hit any bone or even go into the fatty flesh under the skin. The initial thought was that I would need a skin graft. It has been a week now and it is healing fine. The doctor now doubts that I will need a graft. Looking at the thumb I suspect you will not be able to tell what happened except for a scar. No missing parts or flesh. The guy cleaning and dressing it in ER said that it looked more like a "Deli Thumb" referring to deli workers who slice a little too much meat or cheese.
Obvious no work is being done now. And I have a backlog to say the least. I need to finish the garage, put a new clutch in the PW and a new clutch master in the carryall. The daily driver needs a timing belt and an axle shaft and I should also replace its cluch when I pull the axle as it has 170K miles on it. Oh well I also do not have to haul out the trash right now either.
