A few years ago I walked in with the name of the paint color, and the year/product it was used on. (1958 Dodge Truck Sahara Beige)

The supplier called PPG and in 5 minutes they were mixing a can for me. It matched pretty well with what factory paint I have seen, so I think they got it right.

Everyone who saw it thought it was right on.

If the shop you tried could not help then try another.
