Dan. I have a '98 12 valve that I use for plowing snow and for work. It's a great engine. I have done some modifications to it to increase the power substantially. Tbis is the beauty of the 12 valve, the ability to make these manual modifications. I bought a new '03 when they came out and drove it for 3 years, sold it to my son, who is still driving it with over 100k, and bought an '06. I have 65k on the '06. All have been great trucks. I have straight piped them all, which provided a little better economy. The biggest improvement to the '06 was a Dyna Trac hub kit for the front, which frees up the front axle.
