I think the deep is an unusual radiator. But mine is. So I made a spacer to run the NOS cap I bought at a local store for $4.
The older trucks were non-pressure, but I do like the anti-boil advantage of some pressure. The rads were all the same, so I went with the pressure cap. Make sure if you have any work done to the rad, the shop knows that they are only 4 psi, not to blow it apart with 16 psi.
For just getting it running, I'd just tape off all the vacuum ports.
And I don't know whether I've ever told the story of my first trip around the block in my '42 command car. I'll do that now in a separate post...
