I have my '57 K-6-W300 down to frame, and have re-arched and re-bushed the springs, the frame has been to the shop for straightening, but there is a problem. On the frame-mounted spring shackle brackets (front –propeller end), the shackle bolt hole is badly elongated. I am wondering how some of you have solved this problem? Should I drill it oversized and press in new steel, and re-bore? Or, can I weld the cast steel, and re-bore. Or, grind off the rivets and purchase a replacement, but I am thinking that these are not in great supply in NOS condition. I’ll take any guidance. Thanks.
