Every Christmas and especially Copeys story reminds me of an early Christmas when I received my first Orange. It was at the bottom of my stocking that was hung on a real fireplace mantle. It had to have been before I started school.I was born in November of 39. I never thought we were poor but we may have been. Oranges must have cost plenty at Christmas time in 39.
