If you are using a one wire alternator, and did not install a diode inline on the wire from the alt to the "I" switch, then the battery will continually drain itself (see PIF electrical section). Since you have installed an electric fuel pump, refer to the PIF for installing the pump's safety cut-off. Hope the filter is before the pump. If you did not replace your steel fuel lines, install a filter before the carb.
