Joe, You can't go wrong with a Honda. Northern Tool has their own brand with Honda engines, and they are a little cheaper than the "honda" brand, and I presume about the same quality??I've been looking at them. Stay away from Husky brand generators, and all the Chuneese junk. I was at my local Home depot last night and there was a huge row of about 50 returned NFG generators there. Most were Husky , and the tags said broken valves, won't generate power, etc. I kinda like the Yanmar deisels. Yanmar and Isuzu make a real nice smaller stationary set with 3cyl deisels, they are only 36" long, but a bit pricey, 4-5 grand. I worry about not being able to get gas if there was a big natural disaster, that's why I'm thinking deisel because I have 2 tanks of #2 fuel in my basement. You can run a deisel for a long time on 200 gals of fuel. Good luck searching for the right generator.
