I am on the Sunshine Coast . One of the major peaks in the area has never been climbed in the winter because of it's remote access and avalanche hazards . The expression " Avalanche city " is in reference to the fact that there are avalanche hazards all over the area . The expression has been in use in my neck of the woods but so has "noogle " most people do not have a clue what it means except for a few guides .
