On my diesel Tiny Tach, I have 3 wires. I forget the colors without opening the loom.
1 wire is to the injector line, 1 wire is ground, 1 wire is switched 12 volts ( comes on with the ignition key) Without the 12 volts the diesel version is basically dead. The battery holds up all the memories.
Could you be missing the 12 volt power lead ?
