It is really a well built conversion that Ray has done. Like all of his work. I guess he decided that he was not getting a lot of sales and decided to push his firewall mounted peddles.

The interference issue was the result of this. Ray built his prototype using a truck that had a NP420 transmission obviously with the later style PTO. I had the earlier "after" non-synchro transmission and PTO. Apparently the PTO shifter is in a slightly different location than the NP420. The actual shift handle for the 2 styles of PTOs are different. I believe that the NP420 PTO sits higher than the earlier one.

The exact interference problem that I had was that the bottom of the PTO shifter hit the very front edge of the dual master brake cylinder. By using a smaller vacuum booster (i.e. shorter front master cylinder mounting surface to back mounting surface) and a shorter master cylinder it solved all problems as shown in the pictures (picture #1 higher in this post).

Future plans are to remove the vacuum booster and use a hydroboost system. But this is not a priority.
