I agree that people would be likely to squander it, but quitting a job after getting a $2,333 handout (700,000,000,000 bailout divided by the approximate 300,000,000 citizens of the USA) would hopefully be behavior only limited to a few people.

I can't speak for anyone else, but $2,333 would not be life changing for me. A nice little bonus, but not enough to live the high life on, or even enough on it's own to make a down payment on a good new car. If I was married with two kids that would be $9,200 which would help out more.

But individually it is not enough to make a huge difference, it would just pay a few bills for a month or two.
