On my first start up, the primary wire inside the dist was broken. More likely on dists with vacuum advance, if you were alternating throttle, beaker plate moves with the vacuum, and breaks a weak wire.Or it could have frayed insulation, grounding to a bracket inside the dist.
Or it could be a be wire from dist to coil, or coil to battery.
Dirt in points, or a faulty condensor?
