Here's an interesting TIME image from 1941 of a pre-build WC series Carryall with cut-down VC type rear fenders and an interesting front bumper accessory.

I tried to post this a day or three back but the system banned me for embedding a G**gle link, so apologies for not being able to give full credit or post the direct link here.

I think the photographer was given as George Strockley, or Strock, and the caption was something like " side view of a runabout"
