You have the Bendix-Weiss. If it just released the balls on a straight pull out, you have a problem as Chris describes. To make a Bendix-Weiss release the balls, you must flex the joint in a rather sharp angle and then the balls can be removed. Its tricky to get it in the right position to insert the balls, but once you learn the position/feel its easy. I use the Bendix-Weiss in 2 of my trucks and have never had a problem, even with Diesel Power driving them.
