I remember earlier this year, when my girlfriend and i were driving down Route 66, when leaving Arizona heading towards California, we passed a gas station in Arizona, the price of a gallon of fuel was $3.49, my girlfriend said "Oh its ok, we dont need gas right now, we'll fill up at the next station".
We crossed into California 5minutes later, the price of a gallon of fuel was $4.99.
My girlfriend didnt notice the price changed a $1.50 per gallon (she thought it was only $0.50) until i pointed it out.
