An old friend of my Dads called the other day and said his son had some old Power Wagon parts he would like to sell. I said I was interested, what do you have?
He said, and I quote.
"I have a set of front fenders and grill for a flat fender power wagon in real good shape, and a real good civilian dodge cab, with gauges and a good wind shield frame. 4 wheels and tires, 1 combat wheel."
So I drive to Martinez, a 2 hour drive, to pick the stuff up today and I see what he really has.
The fenders and grill are 3/4 ton military cut off at the lower edge. The civilian 1943 cab is rough with a completely rotten wind shield frame, speedometer glass is broken, and the small gauges are replaced with 2" round gauges. The tires and wheels where pretty good.
I told him I only wanted the tires and wheels and he got all bent out of shape. "You got to take it all he said,I wasted a lot of time pulling this stuff out."
Anyway, the day was disappointing, but we struck a deal,and the junk is mine!! Jay
