Just bought my daughter a 2008 Patriot, 30+ mpg and a nice interior, for $15,900. ($5,000 off sticker).
It's not a real Jeep, but it's a good little economy car. Lifetime Warranty, 5 Star safety rating. The interiors were completely redone by Chrysler, in the last few months.
She saves $240 per month in fuel over her last car, that pays for over half of her payment.
