There is a differance between 4 and 6 speeds,ha, you said 4 speed.
Anyway Allison made that trans from 1957 to date. Only change now is electronics.
There are numerous series numbers under that name, I think yours is a 300 series.
They also called them,Powermatic,Reomatic.Torqmatic,and Transmatic,depending on the vehicle make.
There also offered in med duty and heavy duty.
