Yes, I was actually thinking of a 1st or 2nd Generation Cummins 6BT. Yep, i dream way too much, I'm glad it's cheap to do.
Yea, we had a blast. It's different running with the Jeeps. they tend to find the narrow paths, and the points, that the longer wheelbase has problems.
Did it prepare me for following Roger, NO. I'm not sure there is anything that could prepare someone to follow Roger. I have no intention of following Roger everywhere he goes. I know my and my trucks limitations (at least some of them), and will value my life and sanity (at least a little while longer).
I cleaned off the mud (and rocks), installed the fuel pump cut off switch (the Holley TBI still sucks), straightened the rear right tail light, and removed and straightened (mostly) the running boards. Now to weld up a crack in the one board, throw on some paint and reinstall them.
I'm thinking of mounting the spare tire flat in the bed before next weekend. Hope I won't need it, but not sure about the trails.
I will also try and get the high idle switch installed as well, so I can have a little higher idle when needed (1,500 rather than 800). Sure wish I had the granny 1st gear in the NP435!
