Very, Very good reading. Like many, I'm sure I had never thought to research the life of those who stood up to the plate for those alive then and for generations to come.
Heck what do you think would have be done if they had "some" idea how the future
Americans would treat their hard
earned/sacraficed efforts.
Instead of thinking of themselves such as modern day "Me" generation type people.
Sure there was gred back then but it involved a nation not an individual.
I can only guess, they would have stayed in their homeland and said why bother.
Certainly we would be speaking and living in a different culture.
