With any system, there will be abuse. It's human nature. Some are good & some are bad. Also, there is the run around game. People get frustraed & stop trying for what they deserve.
That was my case. That's why it took over 32 years to get my disabilty. Our vets have always been cast aside. It was after the 1st WW, when the vets marched on Washington DC (the Bonus Army), were fired upon by troops led by McArthur, that the VA was formed.
After WW II, the government, being scared that would happen again, gave the returning vets better bennys. However, as time went by, & #'s got less, so did the bennys.
I was in durning Nam too, & my bennys are better than the folk now get (although they've been getting cut). Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to get what I do (& also lucky), but I feel if a person put's their life on the line for their country, they shouldn't be forgotten.
Most of the European countries do that with their vets. Why shouldn't we? Being a vet Glen, have ya gone to the VA for any kind of treatment? My VA finally got a MRI machine that's not in a semi trailer that comes once every 2 months.
Now how do I have a unique view on the VA & the bennys?
