commercial truck shops have breakers that install in the place of glass fuses. they have 2 metal terminals that fit where the ends of the fuse would contact. good thing about them is that 1 they look more period than a ato type fuse system and 2 the breaker pops out and gives a visual cue as to which circuit is bad. not having to replace the fuse and carry spares is an added benefit. we use them in our tractors (they are still made that way) as we hook up to many trailers that might have a short or bad wiring.
