I've always wondered why the rear bumperette's were positioned differently on different trucks.
I always assumed that they were positioned facing down (longer side pointed down) on pickup trucks so that they wouldnt interfere with the tailgate when it was lowered; and that they were positioned facing up on ambulances and carryall's for the purpose of putting a wooden plank/step to assist in loading.
Is this right?
