Eek, comment wasn't about a Tucker front axle at all....
Tucker 4 track uses Dodge axles front and back with same ration and permanently engaged. What I meant was if you made a 1/2 track with a Tucker rear axle and pontoons, and put an ordinary Dodge driven front axle on it, you'd never be able to engage it as the pontoon / drive sprocket gearing effect is 2.33 to one, so if you wanted a 1/2 track with a drive front (wheeled)axle you would need some fancy ratio-dropper between the transfer case output and the front axle to get the drive ratio anything like right.
BTW, the Tucker transfer case is aluminium cased and permanent drive front and back - no reason not to use a Dodge one on a 1/2 track tho'
